This rapid immunochromatographic cassette test is intended for the qualitative detection of Strep A antigens in human throat swab samples. The package contains 25 test devices.

Streptococcus pyogenes, also known as Group A Streptococcus (GAS), is a bacterium responsible for a variety of infections, including acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis, commonly referred to as strep throat. The infection is transmitted via respiratory droplets, particularly in crowded environments such as schools or kindergartens. Symptoms include sudden sore throat, fever, swollen cervical lymph nodes, and the presence of purulent exudates on the tonsils. If left untreated, strep throat can lead to complications such as rheumatic fever, kidney inflammation (glomerulonephritis), or peritonsillar abscesses.
