Streptococcus pyogenes, or Group A Streptococcus (GAS), is a bacterium responsible, among other things, for acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis, known as strep throat. The infection spreads via droplets, particularly in crowded places, and symptoms may include sudden sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes, and a white coating on the tonsils.

The test detects Strep A antigens, and the result is available in just 5 minutes, allowing for rapid evaluation of the sample.
