This kit is used for in vitro quantitative measurement of the concentration of the beta subunit of chorionic gonadotropin in human serum, plasma and whole blood.
Human chorionic gonadotropin is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the human placenta and corpus luteum cells. It plays an important role in implantation and nourishment of the embryo. At the same time, it is an aid in the diagnosis of gynecological inflammation, ectopic pregnancy, chorionic villi diseases.

PURPOSE OF β-HCG TEST.
Quantitative assays (the result given as a numerical value), also called beta hCG, give the exact amount of hCG in the blood. The test can be ordered to help diagnose an ectopic pregnancy, recognize and monitor a pregnancy at risk, or to monitor a woman’s condition after a spontaneous miscarriage. Quantitative hCG determination can also be ordered to diagnose trophoblastic disease, testicular or ovarian germ cell tumors. This test should be performed at regular intervals to monitor the effectiveness of treatment of the above conditions and for early detection of possible tumor recurrence.
