This rapid immunochromatographic cassette test is intended for the qualitative detection of antibodies against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) type 1 and type 2 in human whole blood, serum, or plasma. The packaging contains 40 pieces.

HIV infection remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. HIV-1 is the most common and more pathogenic strain, responsible for the vast majority of cases globally, while HIV-2 is found mainly in West Africa. HIV is a retrovirus capable of integrating its genetic material into the host cell’s DNA, making the infection chronic and difficult to cure. Untreated, it leads to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Transmission occurs primarily through sexual contact, exposure to infected blood (e.g., shared needles, transfusions), and from mother to child.

The test is characterized by very high sensitivity and specificity, enabling quick and reliable results within just 10 minutes.
