Considerations before conducting a drug test

1. Time since the last use of the intoxicating substance – most tests are most reliable up to 3 days after the last consumption (however, depending on the substance being tested, the detection time may be as long as 30 days).
2. Possibility of sample tampering – individuals with substance dependencies may attempt to manipulate test results, so it is recommended to accompany the potentially addicted person during the urine sample collection for testing.

The type of drug used may determine the timeframe for identifying the substance. Some substances persist in the body longer, while others have shorter detection windows.

Test procedure

1. Before starting the test, ensure that the urine sample and/or the test device are at room temperature (15–30ºC).
2. Remove the test panel from the sealed pouch once it has reached room temperature, and preferably use it immediately.
3. Take off the cap from the test panel.
4. Hold the test panel with the arrows pointing towards the urine sample. Immerse the panel vertically into the urine sample for at least 10–15 seconds, ensuring that the test strips are submerged up to the wavy lines, but not above the arrow marked on the test panel.
5. Replace the cap on the test panel and lay it on a flat, non-absorbent surface.
6. Start the timer and wait for the colored lines to appear.
7. Read the drug test results after 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
