The Sejoy COVID-19 Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay intended for the qualitative detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a nasal swab sample. The test is intended for in vitro diagnostics and can be performed at home. It enables rapid identification of a coronavirus infection.

Rapid detection of infection can support the implementation of appropriate preventive measures and help limit the spread of the virus. The test may be helpful if symptoms of infection are present, such as fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, or weakness. Regular health monitoring and rapid diagnosis can help with early detection of infection and consultation with a doctor.

The high accuracy of this test allows for reliable results as early as 10 minutes after applying the sample.

How do I take the test?

Note: To ensure the most accurate results, store the test in a dry place and use it before the expiration date. Before performing the test, make sure the sample, test cassette, and buffer have reached room temperature (15–30°C), and wash and dry your hands thoroughly. It is not recommended to clean your nasal cavity before the test, as this may affect the result.

1. Remove the extraction tube and the extraction tube cap, then carefully peel off the aluminum foil from the extraction buffer tube and place the tube on the stand.
2. Carefully remove the sterile nasal swab from the packaging. Avoid touching its soft tip.
3. Gently insert the swab into one nostril to a depth of 2–4 cm (1–2 cm in children) until you feel resistance.*
4. Using moderate pressure, rub the swab slowly in a circular motion around the inner wall of the nostril—5 times over 7–10 seconds.
5. Repeat the process in the right nostril using the same swab.
6. Place the swab into the extraction tube and submerge the entire tip in the extraction solution, then rotate it while pressing it against the bottom of the tube for about 10 seconds.
7. Remove the swab from the tube, squeezing the extraction solution out of the swab tip as you do so.
8. Place the extraction tube cap on the tube.
9. Place the swab sample into the tube, then snap off the protruding part of the swab and leave the lower half in the tube.
10. Close the tube cap.
11. Remove the test cassette from the packaging and place it horizontally on a flat surface.
12. Add 2 drops of the solution to the test window on the test cassette (it is marked with the letter “S”).**
13. Read the result 10 minutes after placing the sample in the test window. A result obtained after 30 minutes is invalid.

* If the swab breaks during sample collection, repeat the procedure using a new swab. Inserting the swab too deeply or carelessly may cause pain and bleeding.

** Only 2 drops of the processed sample solution may be added to the test window! Adding too much or too little solution may cause incorrect test results!
