Before conducting the drug test, consider

• Time since last use of the drug – most tests are most reliable within 3 days of last use (however, detection times may vary up to 30 days depending on the substance).
• Possibility of sample tampering – individuals with addiction may attempt to alter test results, so it is recommended to supervise the individual providing the urine sample for testing.
• Type of drug used, which may define the detection window. Some substances stay in the body longer than others.

Test Procedure 

1. Ensure the urine sample and/or control is at room temperature (15-30ºC) before starting the test.
2. Bring the test cup to room temperature before opening it. Remove the cup from the sealed pouch and use it within one hour.
3. Remove the cap.
4. Place the collected sample into the cup.
5. Secure the cap.
6. Place the cup on a flat surface.
7. Check the temperature label (black label) up to 4 minutes after sample collection. A green color will indicate the temperature of the urine sample. The proper range for an unadulterated sample is 32-38°C (90-100°F).
8. Complete the information on the cup label.
9. Peel off the label from the test cup in the direction indicated by the arrow to read the results.
10. The drug test result should be read after 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
